Lina grew up in a Catholic family in Bogotá, Colombia, South America. She became a believer as a child and committed her life to Jesus in a special way during her university years through Unidad Cristiana Universitaria (UCU), the IFES movement in Colombia. She and her husband Wilson served with UCU, Wilson as General Secretary and Lina as National Advisor, for almost thirty-two years. Prior to moving to the USA, she was a Professor of Statistics at the National University of Colombia. She also has a Master’s degree in Christian Ministries and is a trained spiritual director. She has served as the prayer coordinator for Urbana 2009 and 2012, leads retreats, supervises staff on sabbaticals and offers spiritual direction. She is the National Prayer Coordinator for InterVarsity USA. Lina and her husband Wilson have three grown children. She loves music, singing, and crafting. Seeing a new generation of students and professionals around the world meet Jesus, follow him, and live out the values of the gospel brings her great joy.
