Mission Resources

For InterVarsity staff, there are additional resources available by logging into the website here.

“Faculty who are serious about their faith are constantly thinking about how to live out their faith in their workplace—the campus...but may need your guidance, especially on how to reach the current generation of students.” -Fred Hickernell, Professor at Illinois Institute of Technology. Kathy Tuan-MacLean, Director of Faculty Ministry, invites you, GFM staff, to read Fred's Letter to Campus Staff that was posted on the InterVarsity Staff website.

By now, most of you have settled into the new academic year. NSO events are winding down and you are catching your breath after initiating lots of conversations and drinking more cups of coffee than you care to remember. As you follow up with new graduate students and faculty, a pithy email pointing to excellent resources will serve them and not add too much to your already overly full calendar.

If we believe that God has gifted many women with both the ability and the desire to invest their lives for the sake of Jesus in a STEM field and that the university (and wider culture) will be well served if they do, how can our InterVarsity communities be places of encouragement and empowerment? How can we provide some of the support they need to stick it out in these disciplines?

The rewards of seeking out the friendly faces, the allies for campus ministry among the faculty members on your campus.

If your tried-and-true methods of ministry are less successful this year, see whether these questions give you a fresh perspective.

Multiple times, I’ve heard people outside of our movement call inductive Bible study “InterVarsity’s gift to the Church.” I think that’s true. But as I’ve led internationals in Bible study, I’ve also come to see it as our gift to the whole world.
