MBA Ministry: Redefining Leadership in a Time of Cultural Angst

The number of Christ-followers entering MBA programs has increased significantly over the last decade—especially since the financial crisis of 2008. There is a greater desire among Christians and non-Christians to link their values with their vocations.

InterVarsity’s MBA Ministry has served as a partner and resource to business students as they develop into world changers.

Believers in Business: Developing Kingdom-Minded Leaders

This annual conference gathers nearly 300 participants from over 20 schools and is a strategic part of MBA Ministry that God is using to develop students into world changers.

A Higher Calling: Becoming Kingdom-Minded Leaders

Given the different models of business and public leadership we have seen in the US and globally, many students desire to learn about a biblical leadership – in business, banking, consulting, brand management, and many other roles in the corporate sector.

Students and alumni at the conference will:

  • Explore God's calling to be Christ-followers in the business sector
  • Discern how their vocational calling intersects with their faith in God, and how to influence their sphere of influence for the better
  • Participate in forums for honest discussion on opportunities, challenges, and strategies for following Christ in the marketplace
  • Develop practical skills for building relationships with others at work in a Christ-like manner

Diverse speakers who model being Kingdom-minded leadership, will share their experiences with students. And there will be space for dialog with other MBA’s from around the world,

Believers in Business is designed for current MBA’s and other grad students as well as young professionals. Please invite alumni and grad students you know to join us April 7-8, 2017, at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City.

Changing the World by Changing the Purpose of Business

Another way MBA Ministry is helping people flourish and glorify God is through our work with 19 MBA fellowships around the country.

Imagine how the world might be different if the purpose of business shifted from “maximizing shareholder profit” to serving humanity in a way that honors the environment and local communities.

Through these MBA fellowships, we have deep gratitude for the opportunity to influence the top tier business schools and subsequent impact their faculty and graduates have on society.
