Introduction
In March 2018, GFM staff gathered for our annual meetings at Mundelein with the goal of being ready with the gospel of peace (shalom) amidst the brokenness of the campus. We explored together ways we can prepare ourselves, our students, and our faculty be more ready to call every corner of every campus to follow Jesus.

Talk 1-- Prayer and Secularization: Naming Our Reality
Gordon Smith, March 20, 2018
Gordon Smith asks, “What does it look like to give leadership to and to pray in ‘a secular age’?” He examines four possible responses to secularism and highlights the importance of living in real-time connection with the ascended Lord Jesus. He warns of ignoring key historic and contemporary voices that can help us stay connected to Christ. Smith concludes that “the greatest threat to the church in a secular age is not external, but internal”—fear.
