Do the students in your fellowship ever struggle to find connections between their faith and their studies? Do they sometimes feel like profs don’t understand their beliefs? Do they wonder what their next step will be after undergrad? Do some consider and even enter grad school?
InterVarsity has a resource for you! The Emerging Scholars Network (ESN), as part of InterVarsity’s Graduate & Faculty Ministries, supports students as they:
- Connect their faith with their lives as students
- Seek Christian role models/mentors in the university
- Figure out transitions from undergrad to what’s next
Through the years, ESN has given focused support to students seeking to become profs. We have a passion for them to see their academic work as a calling from God and assist them in navigating the practical challenges of pursing this path.
ESN desires to connect with and come alongside students in your fellowship who may be considering grad school. Even more broadly we seek to help all students realize that their studies are a way to serve God and their neighbors, and to figure out next steps as they connect their vocation as students with whatever God is calling them to after undergrad—graduate school or other vocations. And we desire to partner with you as your students and alumni take next steps.
What resources do we have to support busy undergraduate staffers? Here are ways that ESN can serve students in your fellowship:
