Staff Resources

When we talk about longing for revival or seeing campuses renewed or seeking signs of shalom, we are praying the big, resurrection-aware, your-kingdom-come prayer that Jesus taught us. Along with the GFM Leadership team, I am being invited to press deeper into such praying. I invite you to press in with us.

Faculty members have the capacity to love and be invested in the campus more than we as InterVarsity staff do. Since 2015, I have been serving at Middlesex Community College (MCC), Lowell Campus, partnering with a PhD professor of science who had been leading a Bible study club for students there for 10 years.  While this co-laborer in the gospel served so well and so faithfully for 10 years all alone, she desired help. She didn’t have the time, capacity, or resources to take the Bible study club to another level.

Some faculty have the time and desire to lead faculty ministry events. Others welcome an event but hope for a catalyst to make it happen. For those who welcome someone from the outside coming in to help, I have found that simply showing up with my title, a word or two from Scripture, and a few good questions, can be powerful. Something happens beyond expectations. Read more about Karen Guzman's lunch with women faculty in Colorado.

The new GFM Strategic Plan for 2018-2022 focuses our priorities in keeping with InterVarsity’s 2030 Calling. The GFM Leadership Team has gone through a time of prayerful discernment that led to the development of this new plan. We integrated what we were hearing from the Lord and from GFM staff with InterVarsity’s national strategies. We now invite you to humbly ask God with us to use these plans to grow His Kingdom in miraculous and amazing ways.

Here is a succinct reminder of the five major goals in the GFM Strategic Plan:

Pre-conference assignments, session recordings, and a copy of the Meeting Book and Schedule for the GFM National Staff Conference. Everything you need to know, all in one convenient webpage.

What could happen if a small group of praying professors met on every campus in this nation?  What would happen to academia?  How might campuses be renewed? What could happen for student ministry?  We dream of a nationwide faculty prayer movement with the 2030 Calling, believing EVERY campus deserves praying faculty.

A Grace and Mercy grant (allocated by Tom Lin) allows us to award incentive grants to 15 GFM campus staff to pilot Communal Scripture Reading on campus during 2019. This fits with a “key action” in our new GFM Strategic Plan: to resource GFM staff for excellence in training student and faculty in scripture engagement and faith/work integration.
