Inside GFM

For InterVarsity staff, there are additional resources available by logging into the website here.

SHIFT Training for GFM Staff has been scheduled for April 27-29, 20201. Learn what to expect at this upcoming event.

With great love we celebrate the homegoing of our friend and colleague, Doug Jackson on September 10, 2020.

What’s new with your colleagues? Who is moving in? Who is moving up? Who is moving on? Catch up on all the news as we welcome new GFM staff (and babies!), say goodbyes to those leaving us, and celebrate GFM staff accomplishments!

Please stop using the name “Passion Talks” and pick up our new name, “Square Inch Seminars.”

My first priority each year for this September communication is to say THANK YOU to all of you campus staff for engaging over these crucial weeks in outreach to new grad students (and even creative attempts to connect with faculty that may be new to campus or just new to you).

A Grace and Mercy grant (allocated by Tom Lin) allows us to award incentive grants to 15 GFM campus staff to pilot Communal Scripture Reading on campus during 2019. This fits with a “key action” in our new GFM Strategic Plan: to resource GFM staff for excellence in training student and faculty in scripture engagement and faith/work integration. Read more about this grant opportunity.

We would love to share your stories from Urbana with other GFM staff to encourage our ministry to continue seeking a diverse, evangelism-focused ministry that God uses to reach every corner of every campus. We hope you enjoy this first collection of stories. Please email myra.koontz@intervarsity.org with stories about your Urbana experience.

Joe Thackwell invites GFM staff to read about his experience that led to a deepening sense that God is multiplying and blessing our efforts to ask good and hard questions about the emerging adults and universities we desire to see transformed. He would love your feedback on his presentation and work with David Williams, sharing how they collaborated to create a seminar track for the Experiencing Life with God Conference in 2018 and  inviting you to explore these questions as well.
