Emerging Scholars Network

For InterVarsity staff, there are additional resources available by logging into the website here.

The ESN blog has partnered with Emerging Scholars as writers of content for and by graduate students and faculty. The material these writers have shared with the Emerging Scholars Network has been such an encouragement. Hannah Eagleson, the Interim Director of ESN, wanted to collect some of the best resources for your reference as you plan events for your chapter, fellowship, small group, or prayer meetings. We are so grateful to the ESN Blog writers for these contributions.

Listen to audio or video of guest speaker Gordon Smith at the online symposium, Prayer and the Academic Calling, co-hosted by InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and the Society of Christian Scholars. The event was held in Coumbus, OH for faculty and grad students across the country and around the world on Saturday, February 2, 2019. We are excited to share the audio and video recording about Gordon Smith's new book, Teach Us to Pray (IVP, 2018).

Sometimes starting conversations about faith with academic colleagues can be challenging. Physics researcher Bob Kaita shares a story about how his academic knowledge and networks and a little creativity helped serve his community and open the door for thoughtful conversations about faith.

Want to do more than survive graduate school? Whether you are new to grad school or returning this fall, the Emerging Scholars Network has encouraging advice in this offering of their most-read posts about surviving grad school as a Christian academic.
