NorCal Faculty/Staff Conference

Third Annual Northern California Christian Academic Faculty and Staff Conference

Join us in Sacramento on Saturday, March 16th, 2019 for the third annual NorCal Christian Faculty and Staff Conference.  This one-day conference is designed to explore the intersection of faith and academia. The event is sponsored by InterVarsity and organized and run by local faculty and staff.  The conference aims to be a source of lasting relationships that will not only provide support and fellowship, but will also spur us on towards greater involvement in the work of God’s Kingdom in the academic world.  We would love to have you join us!

Our featured speaker this year will be Dr. Richard Mouw, Professor of Faith and Public Life at Fuller Theological Seminary, where he also served for twenty years as the school's president. For more details on Dr. Mouw, please see the Guest Speaker page.

In addition to our keynote, the day will feature two separate opportunities to take part in smaller break-out groups to discuss a variety of topics, such as:

  • Academics Partnering with Undergraduate and Local Church Ministries
  • Faith and Work: Navigating the Academic World
  • Navigating As a Person of Faith in a Secular, Anti-Colonialist Academic Settings
  • How to start and sustain a missional faculty/staff group
  • Tools for having difficult conversations and practicing incarnational listening
  • Leadership from a Biblical worldview in higher education

This year's conference will be held in Sacramento, CA. Please see the Logistics page for more information on the location and a tentative schedule. You can email Kyle Watters with questions or sign up for future conference updates.
