About

A Time of Refreshment and Vacation

This is a conference like no other.  For over 10 years, faculty from all over the midwest have been gathering at InterVarsity's Cedar Campus, on the shores of Lake Huron  in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. It's breathtaking beauty is not to be surpassed, except by the experiences that faculty and their families have had in fellowship there. It is a  welcoming place for singles, couples and families alike. Spouses will find the time refreshing and stimulating. Spouses are invited to attend all programming and childcare and children's programming will be provided during the morning and evening sessions. Children will love the beach, the forest, and the children’s programming provided by Cedar Campus staff. The schedule intentionally includes liberal amounts of free, unscheduled time. Registration is limited, providing faculty a more intimate environment for conversation with the presenters and other conferees. Indeed, we expect this week to combine the best of a vacation and an engaging academic conference!

“After attending for two years, I have decided this faculty conference is a necessity in my life. I especially appreciate the encouragement of meeting and worshipping with other faculty members and families who are seriously invested in God’s objective truth and redemptive plan as revealed in the word.”

Looking for something not usually found at conferences? The ministry of Women in the Academy & Professions joins InterVarsity’s Faculty Ministry in hosting this conference for faculty. The conference is enriched by this joint effort, as expressed below:

“[I] cannot say enough good things about [Women in the Academy & Professions]” and “an awesome time to meet other women in the academy. Often applications are focused on men with families (which is a large number of people). It was great to talk with other Christian, single, female faculty.”

We aim to meet the needs of both junior and seasoned faculty by providing thoughtful conference topics and time for discussion, encouragement, Bible study, reflection, as well as a venue to make great family memories. Learn more about the child care provided, directly from the kids and parents who have attended. Many children have enjoyed friends from far off places, growing up together, due to their families' annual commitment to attend the Midwest Faculty Conference.
