Tony Musumba

Associate Professor of Physics

Tony Musumba in an associate professor of physics at Bismarck State College (BSC). He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physics from Moi University, Kenya, and his PHD from The University of Texas at Dallas.

He is actively involved locally and nationally with American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) and is an active member of the Partnership for Integration of Computation in Undergraduate Physics (PICUP) community which works at integrating computation into the undergraduate physics curriculum.

Tony’s students have worked on end of semester projects involving video analysis of sports, racing, running, etc., and STEM students have launched high altitude balloons to test the ability to send and track a balloon carrying data-gathering equipment.

Tony is married to Alice who works at the State Health Department and they have a daughter, Dora, and a son, Terry. In his spare time Tony enjoys shoveling snow and mowing the lawn.
