Dr. Torrence Sparkman, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor, The Rochester Institute of Technology

Dr. Torrence Sparkman, Ph.D., is Assistant Professor in the Department of Service Systems at The Rochester Institute of Technology will be one of our primary contributors this year at the Northeast Faculty Conference. His journey in higher education includes the integration of both disciplinary specialization and theology, as he holds a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a M.Div. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. His research interests include leadership development, organizational development and change across various industries and organizations including higher education. He is known not only for his disciplinary excellence, but his personal faith and love of Scripture. In preparation for the conference, we have already started a fruitful dialog with Torrence regarding the intersection of his work and the challenges experienced by people of faith as addressed in the Letter of James.
