Brian Chan founded and runs a for-profit secular software business, called Liferay, with over 900 employees in 15 countries, and uses it as means of glorifying God by spreading the Gospel while writing beautiful code. By building a vibrant business, making technology useful, and investing in communities, Liferay makes it possible for people to reach their full potential to serve others.
Liferay is one of the few technology companies to achieve over $100 million in revenue without any outside funding.
He was born in Hong Kong but grew up in Brazil and Northern California before earning degrees in economics and computer science from the University of Chicago. Brian now lives in the Los Angeles area with his wife and family.
