Ann Chao was the cofounder and CEO of Sonation, an immersive media company that transformed recorded music into "live" responsive experiences. Sonation's main app Cadenza enabled musicians to play with a full orchestra synced to their tempo in real time, and was featured by Apple as a "Best New App" internationally.
Sonation shut down in mid-2016 after running out of funding, and remains a source of many entrepreneurial and life lessons. Ann is now a product consultant at Toast, a cloud-based point-of-sale platform for restaurants. She holds a bachelor’s degree and a MBA from Harvard. Prior to her MBA, she was a strategy consultant at Roland Berger in China.
